movement cracks me up every dam year!!!
i love the person who pulls out the google sheets page
we started off the festivities strongly w the freak press ball freak press ball
it was GREAT vibes as soon as we stepped innnn
they sounded and looked STELLA
OVERALL TOP DJs of the weekend for ME:
sabetye
somethingblue
bae bae
sabetye killed their set like everyone’s mind was blown in there.
i saw someone shazaming during their set lol as if that will help u
went to juicy 2 yr anniversary the next nite
darryl’s mom came and also my little brother lmao he was like “oh i wasn’t dressed for this”
there was a party up the stairs second floor in the siren aka ash-bar which by the time i got up there it was last call but it was a cute environment
by night 3 i had to transfer over to gym shoes
it’s fun being a local and watching other ppl experience my city
nite 3: garage cultural
heard for the first time in a club environment:
bbl drizzy
i’ve been a nasty girl
truth or dare x tyla
ok x jt
still looking to hear:
clip of kamala harris talking about falling out of the coconut tree incorporated into a dj set
after that was blueprint: wow
i hadn’t been to red door in years
a storm rolled in at like 4am and the temperature dropped dramatically and there became a lightning storm and we could see the lightning flashes thru the skylights
somethingblue was my fave dj it was very hard to leave the dance floor
this was the most ex*****ve event i went to but i did went the hardest here.
2 rooms. very lit. very queer very femme very black, gave everything it needed to
movement riders who i saw by coincidence almost every day in a row aka most locked in:
daay
ca$hly
kess
free palestine at every event
venues visited:
spotlite (great seating capacity)
paramita (great job being free)
ash-bar (great for a convo)
garagecultural (nice bonfire)
red door (huge space indoor and out)
congregation (a church basement in a good way)
el club (help them)
we went to congri on saturday it was very cute!
standing outside congregation is always kind of jarring, paul mentioned like isn’t it crazy that this is where the riot started……...and now we drink lattes here……..
sad to have missed:
underground and black AGAIN
it’s over 9000
can u dig it
on sunday i dressed but it rained again so i went 2 the drivethru & back home 2 rest
el club on monday for wall ii wall
the food situation was TERRIBLE lmfao
they were only serving hot dogs and hamburgers with only ketchup or mustard
no cheese & the style of the hotdog was charging u $8 for 2 hot dogs and one bun…..insane
oil from the grill was dripping directly onto an extension cord on the ground
they eventually noticed this and so placed a *cardboard box* under the grill to catch the oil drip??? did not move the cord?
i was rly trying to avoid buying from them but i was there for either 4 or 5 hours! and hungry!
we did see zach fox
he is being powered by AI
fave set here was bae bae
RANT u can skip:
the prices rly restricted the events i went to!
they don’t want detroit residents in these clubs!
i know it’s techno xmas but me and many others in this city is POOR.
why is it costing $40 for me to go to a local venue & see local artists……..
$40 OR MORE EVERY NIGHT sometimes multiple times a day????? if u want to go to 2 parties????
there were less wristbands for the festival floating around this year as well.
my grand total from the weekend?
(just paying the door, no merch, no drinks, no food included)
COVERS ALONE:
$103…..that is from 3 clubs
i need a press pass next year.
yes!
so now i have got 3 nasty wristbands!
should i keep collecting????
i had a great time and i thank u for reading and i LOVE YA
